VP Finish’s Standard (Clear, Type II) Sulfuric Anodizing is a general engineering and decorative coating that provides corrosion resistance, hardness (approximately 48-55 HRc) and wear resistance with the added ability to provide dyed color finishes for aesthetic and identification purposes. It is an electrochemical process used to grow a uniform layer of aluminum oxide on aluminum substrates.

Types
- Standard Clear
- Dyed (Colored)
Our Standard (Clear) Sulfuric Anodizing is a sealed, undyed coating that exhibits a light grey to light brown color depending on the aluminum alloy. It is often used as a good base layer for paint adhesion and can also be used when increased electrical resistance is required. It also performs well in indoor environments and is resistant to normal handling and wear.
In addition to our standard Clear Sulfuric Anodizing color, this finish can be dyed various basic colors: black, blue, ted, gold, grey and green. All of our colored Clear Sulfuric Anodizing is sealed with our Nickel based seal to insure color wear ability.
