VP Finish’s Zinc Plating is widely used to impart a brilliant sacrificial finish to facilitate a general degree of corrosion resistance and is also an excellent base layer for paint adhesion. It is often a first choice in cost-conscious applications where affordability is a concern. Our zinc chloride based electrolytic process deposits a single layer of zinc on many metal substrates.

Types
Chromates & Sealers
With the addition of one of our supplemental Chromates, the corrosion resistance of our Zinc Plating is significantly improved. The most typically requested chromate is our standard Clear (Blue) Chromate that provides a high level of corrosion protection. Our Yellow Chromate is also requested when corrosion protection of the Zinc Plating base layer is required in accordance with various industrial specifications. When a black finish is desired, our Black Zinc Chromate provide a deep iridescent black for both corrosion resistance and aesthetic purposes. In addition, when any of the our chromates are coupled with our Chromate Sealer, corrosion resistance is tremendously increased. Our various chromates provide different levels of corrosion resistance and some are RoHS compliant while others are not:
